About

We write the code and we run the server

Most software projects get handed over twice. Once from whoever designed it to whoever builds it, and again from the developer to whoever ends up holding the hosting login. Things get lost at both handovers, and when something breaks a year later nobody is quite sure whose job it is to fix it.

OneZera is a software development company that also does server management. We do not hand over. The people who scope your project write it, deploy it and get the alert when it stops. That is unusual for a development company, and it is the main reason clients stay with us after launch.

Principles

What we hold ourselves to

Fixed scope, fixed price

You know the number before we start. If the scope changes we price the change, and you decide whether it is worth it.

You own everything

Source code, servers, domains and store accounts are in your name and handed over with documentation.

Quiet about clients

We do not publish names, logos or screenshots. What we build for you stays yours to talk about.

Ordinary tools

We use widely known technology, so your software can still be maintained in five years by us or by whoever you hire next.

The unprofitable answer

If what you need is smaller than you think, or not worth building at all, we say so on the first call instead of quoting for it.

The same people throughout

Whoever scopes your project writes it, deploys it and picks up the alert when it stops.

Every layer, one owner

A business does not experience an app, a database and a server. It experiences whether the order went through. We take responsibility for the whole path.

The difference

What changes when one team owns it

A typical arrangement

  • When the site goes down

The developer blames the host and the host blames the developer.

  • What you are quoted

A day rate, and an estimate that moves as the work does.

  • Who owns the work

Their platform, their hosting account, their licence.

  • After launch

A support address, and a quote for anything that changes.

With OneZera

  • When the site goes down

You call us. We wrote the code and we built the server.

  • What you are quoted

A fixed price against a written scope. Changes are quoted before they're done.

  • Who owns the work

Your repository, your servers, your store accounts.

  • After launch

A monthly agreement that lists what is covered.
